The purpose of these valves was to enhance the safety system and automate an emergency shut down of the EC5 system. The entire system required to be vacated and was pumped out into purpose-built storage Isotainers in order to complete this installation. This job was undertaken with tight deadlines during the winter period requiring over 2500 hours to complete the project.
