Reporoa Organics Processing Facility – EcoGas

JLE are pleased to be involved in a world leading facility based in the central North Island. The Reporoa Organics Processing Facility is a large-scale food waste-to-bioenergy facility using innovative anaerobic digestion to produce sustainable renewable clean energy.

This facility is a NZ first in the creation of a carbon-neutral circular economy solution. The EcoGas facility will process annually 75,000 tonnes of organic waste from businesses and kerbside scrap collections. After being processed, this waste will produce enough energy to power the equivalent of 2,500 households, produce clean bio-fertiliser for approximately 2,000 hectares of farmland and provide CO2 to enhance the growth of tomatoes in the local glasshouses.

The project management and supervision of the JLE works was overseen from Taranaki, with the collaboration of our electrical and mechanical teams. The ability to mobilise a multi-discipline workforce to provide a one-stop solution for our Aotearoa clients makes JLE the preferred choice in this industry.
