Major Completed Projects
Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML) Mine Workshop Construction
JLE has been contracted by OTML to provide resources for the construction of a new Mine Workshop & HV Wash Bay at its mine in the very remote highlands of PNG. JLE is providing both expat NZ and national PNG mechanical and electrical resources including construction management, supervision, riggers, roofers and electricians.
The project commenced in August 2016 and is forecasted to be completed in March 2017 with some estimated 20,000 man hours of resources provided. JLE has expended some 13,000 man hours to date with no LTI’s, MTI’s or FAI’s which is a testament to JLE’s and OTML’s site management teams focus and diligence with respect to HSE. This project further enhances JLE’s ability to provide a multitude of different trade resources to meet the requirements of our customers.

Vale Dewatering Plant E&I Installation
JLE is in the closing stages of completing for IMG the electrical and instrumentation installation works for a new dewatering plant at the Vale Nickel Mine in New Caledonia. The project site is situated some 1.5 hours drive south of Noumea in a remote part of New Caledonia and the installation works were completed in a very compressed timeframe due to the urgent requirement to have the dewatering plant commissioned prior to Christmas.
JLE delivered this project using a mix of labour from NZ and New Caledonia. Project management, supervision and key electrical resources were supplied from our own employee resources and they were supplemented by electricians and labourers sourced from partner companies in Noumea. This project scope included for one dewatering belt press and if this proves to be successful in reducing the water content of the mines outfall then Vale are looking at implementing a further nine of these.
