Project Description
Flux OS Sdn Bhd (Flux) is a Brunei based oil and gas servicing company. Through its partnership with Easternwell Energy, JLE successfully delivered the extensive electrical works for Flux’s new SRD 1 Rig. A heavy mobile onshore workover and well servicing rig which will deliver well intervention and abandonment services. JLE’s scope included the electrical and instrumentation design, PLC programming, Generator synchronization utilizing deep-sea controllers, the associated fabrication, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the Flux rig to API 500 and IEC standards. The design for the replacement of VSD drives included the auto-download of VSD parameters onto the VSDs during a power reset or onto a newly installed VSD to achieve a client plug-and-play functionality requirement which also eliminates the need for technical operators for this activity. JLE was also responsible for the on-time procurement and inter-continent logistics required to supply each of the various work faces in Calgary Canada, Victoria Texas, Denver Colorado and finally Brunei Darussalam. A JLE team of Hazardous Area Electricians, Instrumentation and automation technicians traveled to Canada, Denver, and Texas to install and pre-commission all electrical works before the full package was shipped to Brunei Darussalam for final commissioning. This project required a short turnaround period from contract award to practical completion of four months. Through constant client communications, we carefully managed the completion of the full electrical and instrumentation construction drawings from its concept stages within this period in conjunction with the procurement and site delivery to ensure the overall rig delivery was not delayed. JLE mobilized a team to Canada two weeks after the contract award to start the electrical installation on the Rig Mast, Catwalk and Choke Manifold packages. The project was completed with a zero LTI and zero MTI achievement.
