History

John Lobb founded his electrical business, John Lobb Electrical in 1977, servicing the Taranaki region of New Zealand.

In 1998 the company’s name changed to JLE Electrical when three employees acquired John Lobb’s interest in the company. At the same time JLE acquired Steve Prestige’s interest in Presco, a Hawera based electrical contracting company.

Since then JLE expanded its services beyond Taranaki to cover the Upper North Island and the Upper South Island regions, and continues to deliver successful projects and maintenance services to our growing customer base.

The business now has a workforce in excess of 170 and a turnover in excess of $30 million.

In June 2010 the shareholding in the business changed and a new CEO was appointed. The rationale for this change was to provide a new platform for the continued growth of the business and to further improve service to our customers.
